The Reading Pagoda under renovations
The Reading Pagoda Red Hat Chapter
The Reading Pagoda is an icon atop Mt. Penn in the city of Reading. Our chapter was named after it because we wanted our group to be recognized by something from the area. We had our 6th Annual Tea at the Pagoda on Monday, October 6, 2008. The only other time we visited the Pagoda, as a chapter, was when the newspaper wanted to do an item on us since we were the first Red Hat Chapter in Berks County. We were photographed at the Pagoda as a group and that picture was in the Reading Times. Now, after 100 years, they are renovating the structure which they hope to finish before the New Year's Fireworks display over the city.
